Driving Directions
Directions from NH
Coming from New Hampshire, I assume you will find your way through Keene to Brattleboro and take Route 9 west to the junction with Route 100. Turn left onto 100. Continue to a right turn up a steep hill, Wilmington Cross Rd. Follow it until you reach 100 again which has taken a loop through Jacksonville. Cross 100 and follow the road to the Brigham Young Monument and memorial park. The monument is on the hill to the left. Follow the road around to the left. It winds, but the main road is fairly obvious. You will come to an intersection with an old school house on the right. Turn right onto Kentfield Road. It winds, but will bring you to the state line. 2.1 miles from the state line Ford Hill Road comes in from the right. The sign is a few feet in from the corner with its back to the direction you will be coming. If you get to the school, turn around and come back. Laurelwood is the first entrance on the left about 1,200 feet from the corner. We will be plreased to send a map.
Directions from New York City
The easiest way is to get on the Henry Hudson north at the 125th Street entrance just north of the Fairway market. Get in the left lane and just drive. You cross the Henry Hudson Bridge, toll $2.00, it becomes the Saw Mill Parkway that ends where the sign says keep left for Brewster, Rte. 684. Get onto 684 and drive about eleven miles to the exit for Danbury, Rte. 84 East. Get onto 84 east and continue to Hartford. In Hartford, watch the sign carefully for Rte. 91 North toward the Airport. It’s a bit tricky, because there are three exits very close together and it’s easy to take the wrong one. Get on 91 North, and just keep going through Springfield, past Northampton, to Greenfield, Massachusetts. Take Exit 26. At the bottom of the ramp, you come to a rotary. Go three quarters around the rotary to the Rte. 2 West, Williamstown turnout, and continue on Rte. 2 West. Consult the following directions from Greennfield.
Directions from Greenfield, MA
From Greenfield, Massachusetts, take Route 2 west, “the Mohawk Trail”, approximately 20 miles, through Charlemont . One mile west of Charlemont center there is a green highway sign for Rowe. It is a right turn. Follow Zoar Road about three miles to the fork. Go right, up the hill, keeping to the right along Pelham Brook into Rowe. Just past the mill pond and Rowe Town Hall area, bear right at the white sign “Heath 5” and continue on past Pelham Lake on the right, and then the school on the left. You will be on Pond Road, which becomes Leshures. Take the first left after the school onto Ford Hill Road. (At night you will see a white reflector on a telephone pole on Leshures Road directly across from the Ford Hill junction.) About 1,200 feet from the corner on the left you will see our white “Laurelwood” sign nailed to a tree. You will drive in about 200 feet to the house and parking area. We will be pleased to send map.
